Explore and experiment printmaking using Aluminium and Stencils. This workshop will give you an introduction to metal plate etching with aluminium plates and the intaglio printmaking process.
We’ll use different ways to apply line and tone and texture to the plate and print using an etching press. We will use shape and form with handmade stencils and print with the print process of
monotype. Both these processes allow for painterly and gestural types of mark making.
The workshop is suitable to all levels of experience and will cover plate preparation, applying resists and etching in copper sulphate/salt solution.
