Join the Food Innovation Network and MPI for a series of three workshops about food labelling and health and nutrition claims, delivered by the experts from MPI. All the workshops are free and will be delivered by Zoom.

Workshop 1 – General Food Labelling
Date: Thursday 31 March 2022
Time: 10am – 12noon
Learn the basics of food labelling and what needs to be on your label and why.  This workshop is a required prerequisite for Workshop 3 (Nutrition and Health Claims).
Workshop 2 – Plain English Allergen Labelling (PEAL)
Date: Thursday 7 April 2022
Time: 10am – 12noon
Last year the Food Standards Code was amended to introduce new rules to help ensure that mandatory food allergen declarations are clearer and more consistent for consumers. Businesses have another two years to implement the new Plain English Allergen Labelling (or PEAL) rules. 
Learn about changes required to food labels to meet the new rules. Janet will share a draft of the guidance developed for businesses explaining the changes and seek your feedback on them.
Workshop 3 – Guidance for making Nutrition and Health Claims
Date: Thursday 14 April 2022
Time: 10am – 12noon
Learn how to use nutrition and health claims on your label or in your marketing material. This will cover the regulations in this area, including the requirements for making and substantiating claims.
