Sunday, March 5th: Leave 9am. The start of this walk is part way down the Mōrere Hill at Mangatoto Station. We walk along a sidling and gently climbing track leading to a lime quarry before climbing 250m to the summit of Moumoukai (612m), on Moumoukai Station. This is a prominent hill with rock outcrops above the Nūhaka River overlooking the Mōrere – Nūhaka area. Mangatoto & Moumoukai Stations have recently been planted in Pinus radiata.
