This March, The Arts Foundation and Creative New Zealand are back on the road – visiting Tūranganui-a-Kiwa Gisborne to listen, learn and connect with a free breakfast event. Five speakers, five perspectives, five short and sharp rounds – all over coffee and kai.
What’s it all about?
Think: an idea-exchange centred on creativity. With the support of The Chartwell Trust, we’re bringing together local innovators, artists, sportspeople, politicians (and everyone in between) to show how the arts, culture and creativity impacts our communities every day. We’re on a mission to change the way New Zealanders see creativity – because art isn’t just for the usual suspects. It’s for all of us, every day.
Why creativity?
Creativity is more than just picking up a paintbrush. It’s problem solving, it’s communication, it’s inspiration and connection. And it affects you more than you may think! After having our lives disrupted by the pandemic, how we see the future is changing. Collectively, we’re in the process of dismantling and reimagining the ways we work, live, and engage with the world around us. So, what role do the arts, culture and creativity have to play?
We’re not here to do the talking.
We’re tuning in. Hear from local speakers, including an Arts Foundation awarded artist, and catch up in-person with team members from The Arts Foundation Te Tumu Toi and Creative New Zealand Toi Aotearoa (two national arts organisations on a mission to fuel creativity in Aotearoa New Zealand).
Kickstart your day with coffee, kai and a dose of creative conversation. These breakfast events are free, and everyone is welcome – you don’t have to be an arts-lover to come along!
This journey is backed by Chartwell Trust, The Lion Foundation and powered by our media partner, Stuff.
