Maungarongo (Ron) TeKawa of Ngāti Porou has been working prolifically in fashion, art, community development and education across Aotearoa New Zealand for decades. Using sewing as a conduit to connect with people, his legendary workshops have given countless participants the confidence to create and express with fabric. Join Ron at Te Pūtahi for whakapapa quilting workshops for all ages on both Saturdays, and on Wednesday, and on Sundays for tamariki and above for Superhero cloak workshops. Te Pūtahi – The Trust Tairāwhiti Festival Hub is the point of connection, to gather and be a part of Te Tairāwhiti Arts Festival 2021. Each day has an exciting array of activities and workshops to keep the tamariki entertained for hours. With live performances, markets and kai on offer, bring the whole whānau along to relax and soak up the festival atmosphere. Covid Level Restrictions will be in place to ensure a safe and spectacular event.
