Ngā mihi koutou, This is to invite you to a Waimatā River community meeting at the Lawson Field Rose Room from 5.30 – 7.30pm on Tuesday July 13. Tea / coffee will be available from 5.15pm. The meeting is to bring back to you the outcomes of the May 20th meeting and to discuss next steps, with a focus on the lower/residential catchment area of the river. For those who weren’t able to attend the May 20th meeting, we heard thought-provoking presentations from the ‘Let the River Speak’ Auckland University research team and Mairangi Campbell representing the waka ama paddlers. Following a community engagement activity was facilitated to identify:· What matters to us about the river, what we value.· Our concerns about the river.· Our aspirations for the river and its restoration. Please let us know whether you are able to attend. That will help our catering and setting up of our working space. Many thanks
