Event Details

Come along and enjoy a mid-winter weeding and general tidy up of the native plantings beside the Waikanae Stream in Grey Street, by the Skate Park. This volunteer-driven project is in its 10th year. The plantings are now getting beautifully established and are doing a terrific job of filtering the awa. Bring your favourite gardening gloves and please wear sturdy footwear. Tools, hand-sanitiser and rubbish bags will be provided. There will be a free sausage sizzle afterwards – time to catch up with other volunteers and supporters of the project.
Look out for the three resident spoonbills.
We are just a small active group, and welcome more involvement from supporters, friends and whānau.
