Event Details

The Extravaganza Fair is a family affair, it is a FREE ENTRY, fun day out with something for everyone. We bring marvellous family shows, live music and entertainment on our very own Extravaganza Stage and invite local performers to join us too.
We have around 35 interesting and unique stalls, with our stall holders helping us to achieve our vision. They individually bring their own style, craft and business and their dues support our performers and the maintenance of props and equipment that we bring to the 32 different towns we visit each year.
There is cool and interactive stuff for kids; we bring back the ‘old school fun’ through sack races, tug of wars, horse derby’s, 4 man ski races etc, with prizes to be won for all. Kids toys like hola-hoops, devil sticks, balancing planks and building blocks lay waiting to be picked up by roaming children and the chill zones (bean bags, picnic tables and sun shades) create a relaxed atmosphere that encourages people to stay all day. There’s a selection of healthy food and drink options or one can also indulge on ‘classic fair’ treats. Loads of fabulous, unique and interesting shopping, rides, food, kids fun and unique NZ Tiny Homes. This includes an open home and information on solar power, alternative living and waste management. We strive to be a fun and sustainable event that encourages communities to interact with music, arts and one another.
We understand as a travelling event, we have a platform to positively communicate the importance of thinking for the future; reducing plastic waste, recycling and using alternative packaging.
The Extravaganza Fair is aiming to be a sustainable event having already BANNED 1 use plastic drink bottles, plastic bags, straws and packaging. We offer up-cycled fabric bags, paper straws, all packaging is compostable and plant based. We have our own Recycle Trailer with recycle warriors who sort all waste into correct bins and deposit to local recycle stations. At the end of the season we donate to tree planting charities to help towards being carbon neutral. (Trees that count –

The Extravaganza FairWe are a group of people who choose to live in our House trucks, buses or motorhomes. Most of us have no home base and live 'on the road' full time. We make a living to sustain our life style by holding events. We have a season of about 32 events all held in a different town every weekend from September to April.
